OLBC Applauds the Selection of the New Ohio Legislative Black Caucus Foundation, President

COLUMBUS– Ohio Legislative Black Caucus (OLBC) President Terrence Upchurch (D-Cleveland) issued the following statement in response to the announcement of former State Rep. Shayla L. Davis’ selection as the President/CEO of the Ohio Legislative Black Caucus Foundation (OLBCF). This appointment follows the departure of former OLBC Foundation President Barbara Sykes, who was recently elected to a seat on the Akron School Board.

“As President of OLBC, I express my gratitude to the honorable Barbara Sykes for her years of dedicated leadership and service to the OLBC Foundation; I wish her much success in her future endeavors. I am genuinely excited that former State Representative Shayla L. Davis has accepted the role of the new CEO and President of the Foundation. Her remarkable strategic skills in community outreach, and government relations make her an excellent choice for this position,” said Rep. Upchurch.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Davis has played an instrumental role in advancing local government initiatives and fostering solid relationships with public officials. Her public relations and policy expertise is an invaluable asset to OLBCF and the communities they serve.
