The Ohio Legislative Black Caucus Announces 2024 Primary Election
COLUMBUS – Ohio Legislative Black Caucus (OLBC) Executive Director John Meacham issued the following statement after the OLBC met yesterday evening to discuss the 2024 Primary Election endorsement recommendations from the OLBC Elections Endorsement Committee at the monthly OLBC full-body meeting. The members of the OLBC voted and unanimously accepted the recommendations of the endorsement Committee.
The OLBC endorses the following candidates for the March 19, 2024 Primary Election:
- Ohio Congressional District 10 – Amy Cox
- Ohio Senate District 6 – Willis Blackshear Jr
- Ohio House District 3 – Ismail Mohamed
- Ohio House District 5 – Meredith Lawson-Rowe
- Ohio House District 20 – Terrence Upchurch
- Yes for Citizens Not Politicians (Redistricting Reform)
- Yes for Raise the Wage Ohio ($15 minimum wage)
“After sending out the OLBC endorsement questionnaire, the OLBC Elections Endorsement Committee was thoroughly impressed by the number of well-qualified diverse candidates who responded. Most of those candidates are not facing a primary opponent, which was one of the deciding factors for the OLBC Endorsement Committee. The Elections Endorsement Committee will announce OLBC endorsements for the November 5, 2024 General Election in April,” stated Director Meacham.
